Recreation Ground

A newly-refurbished Whaddon Recreation Ground was re-opened at the end of November 2015, by the Parish Council following a £55,000 grant from WREN, a not-for-profit organisation, which awards grants to community, environmental and heritage projects across the UK from funds donated to the Landfill Communities Fund.

The grant has been used to install an imaginative play area for all ages, with equipment from swings, seesaw and an adventure playground, to an outdoor three-person multi-gym, which includes a cross trainer, step- and rowing machine for the over 15s. For the less active, new bench seating has also been installed. The recreation ground also has a football pitch open for use.

In the interest of health and safety, dogs are not permitted to be taken onto the recreation ground (sorry), nor are glass items like bottles.
